Approach and Procession
It is almost over. I'm working on plans, sections, and interior sketches. But the biggest part of the project, animation, is done. It took my computer about 150 hours to render 2000 frames at 960 x 540 pixels. That was the main reason I didn't post for so long.
You know...It is effective. Although I am not sold on the overall massing wholesale, the flythrough as an exercize is rather successful. Kudos for the effort.
ReplyDeleteI will reserve critical commentary until more "drawings" are posted. I am still looking forward to some sectional studies. While you are animating, try a cut through that progressively ploughs through the building.
As much as I want to do progressive cut through the building, the program doesn't (as far as I know). But I do realize the need to do sectional study. That is next on my to do list.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very strong animation. I haven't seen animations in our studios that successful. The view how your building interacts with the site and the waters edge really seem to use your whole concept from the beginning into the entire project. II am more intrigued with how you dealt with the site and used the ramps and paths to bring your concept to the site, rather than the interior (which is also strong).
ReplyDeleteGreat work.
This animation confirms your capabilities. Animation is a very strong tool that you obviously control very well and can use to your advantage. Keep in mind though that sometimes these tools may hurt than help your project. In your case I love how the animation highlights the beautiful paths which landscape your access points. That could be the main story, the narrative this video conveys. I like also the mood you are creating, the passage from day to evening, the landscaping. There are moments though that the whole mass of your building is aggressive. Learn from this animation and at a later stage, in the future , go back and rethink the massiveness of your proposal.
ReplyDeleteGreat job overall!
Looking forward to meet with you and see your work closer on Monday.
